  • Ontario Building Officials Association (O.B.O.A.)

    At Home Building Inspection Services is a member of the O.B.O.A., a self-governing, non-profit volunteer organization committed to maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the field of building inspection, code administration and building safety. The O.B.O.A. is responsible for the delivery of courses leading to the certification of its members, as Certified Building Code Officials for those who work in the municipal sector, or Building Code Equivalent (BCQ) for those in the private sector. In recognition of changing technology in the industry and changes in the Ontario Building Code requires that each member maintain certification through their Continuing Education Program. Certified government members are recognized by the designation C.B.C.O. (Certified Building Code Official) which can be used after the holders name.

Wood Energy Technology Transfer Inc.

Woodstove inspection.Wett is a voluntary training and certification program managed by Wood Energy Technology Transfer Inc., a non-profit association. Members include installers, chimney sweeps, municipal inspectors, insurance inspectors and independent home inspectors across Canada.

Qualifications

  • Registered Home Inspector (RHI)

    If you are a qualified member of the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors, you have the exclusive right to be a RHI (Registered Home Inspector). Registered Home Inspectors must meet stringent criteria to be approved and they are carefully scrutinized on their educational, technical and experiential backgrounds. At Home Building Inspection Services is proud to have fulfilled these criteria and be RHI certified (RHI # 000159).

  • W. E. T. T. Basic Inspection(#3888)

    To achieve Wett Certification you must successfully complete Wood Energy Technology Transfer Inc. courses and submit a verifiable declaration of field experience. Only those who have achieved Wett certification are permitted to use the Wett logo.

Certified Building Code Official (#1895)

The CBCO designation from the OBOA demonstrates that the person has the minimum education and experience needed for building officials to carry out his/her duties.
